Eleanor Wentworth, also known as Ellie, is a lifelong Episcopalian. She graduated from Stonehill College with a degree in Data Processing, Business Administration, and Finance. She retired as a Senior Financial Analyst from a large student loan company. Before its closure, Ellie and her family had been members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brockton for 44 years. She served on the St. Paul’s Table committee, serving the hungry in Brockton, as well as St. Paul’s LLC, a neighborhood revitalization organization. Eleanor also served as a Sunday School teacher in all grades and co-chaired the Youth Group. Ellie is the former President of Brockton Business and Professional Women, Chair of Brockton’s Commission on Women’s Issues, Chair of Brockton Neighbors United Board of Directors, and has served on the Brockton’s Promise steering committee. She has received many awards for her contributions to her community. Eleanor has organized many community events including peace walks, neighborhood fun fests, Neighborhood Watch, and multicultural events. She has volunteered at the Boys’ Detention Center, Mainspring Homeless Shelter, and supervised visitations for parental visits of domestic abuse victims. She is a devoted member of GCB, who has served joyfully in various capacities including Altar Guild Coordinator, Clerk to the Executive Committee, Warden, Deanery Representative, Patroness of the Brigade, and more. We are thankful for her service to our community.
