Rachel Olayemi Yerokun was born and raised in Ibadan, Nigeria and lived there until immigrating to the U.S. in 1990. The daughter of an Anglican priest, faith has always been an important part of Rachel’s life. Her father’s strong faith in God paved the way for her own. After coming to the U.S., Rachel graduated from Roxbury Community College with an Associate degree. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from UMass Boston. Rachel found Grace Chapel Brockton (GCB) in 2011, when her children began attending GCB’s Brigade Youth Program. She felt encouraged to become a member not only because of her children’s involvement in the Brigade, but because of what GCB stands for in the community: outreach for men, women, and children. She currently serves as Warden at GCB. Growing up with eight siblings sparked Rachel’s love for children, which led her to become one of the patronesses of the Brigade and the coordinator for field trips. Rachel currently works at CareOne in Newton, MA. She has remained a loyal member of GCB and supports all the church’s programs. Rachel will continue to let God lead her and positively influence those around her.
